Description
The Ahijo silver-stripe round herring fish is a Japanese style tapas called Ahijo (アヒージョ) soaked in olive oil and garlic. The product can be eaten as a snack on its own or garnished over pizza or pasta.
The fish are caught from the surrounding seas off Nagasaki prefecture and is prepared with a secret seasoning and smoked using wood chips from the Nogurumi (ノグルミ) tree or wild walnut tree from Tsushima Island off the coast of Nagasaki.
The recipe includes using tomatoes from Oshima island tomato and camellia oil from Goto island and is soaked in garlic-infused olive oil.
